About the Dividend Stocks Under $50 list

This list covers dividend-paying stocks trading below fifty dollars a share — a range that captures a large part of the US market, including many well-established mid and large-cap companies alongside smaller ones.

Share price tells you nothing about whether a company is cheap. It reflects the number of shares outstanding rather than the value of the business, and a fifty-dollar stock can be far more expensive relative to earnings than a five-hundred-dollar one. What this threshold does offer is practical: it is a price range where building a position in whole shares is straightforward for most account sizes, and where a quarterly dividend reinvests into a sensible fraction of a share.

Because the range is broad, this list is more diverse than the under-ten list and closer in character to the market as a whole. You will find stable large-cap payers with modest yields sitting alongside higher-yielding smaller companies. Sorting by market cap rather than yield is often the more informative view here.

Methodology

Includes US-listed dividend payers with a latest close under $50 and a market capitalisation above $50 million, ranked by trailing twelve-month yield. Exchange-traded funds and mutual funds are excluded.
